About + Contact - Lucy Zhang
Biography:
Lucy Zhang is a neurodivergent artist with roots in northeastern China and the northeastern United States. They have a B.A. in Studio Arts from the University of Pittsburgh, where they also studied Sociology and various area studies. They are currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Lucy works across many mediums including photography, painting, writing, and installation, and often adopts processes of collage, appropriation, meditation, and dreaming. Their practice explores the deep interconnectedness of family, memory, environment, and cultural history, and considers different ways of knowing, being, and relating.
Lucy’s work has been featured in various University of Pittsburgh Art Gallery exhibits, the Lab @ Silver Eye’s pop-up show New Horizons, and the Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media’s group show Collective Energies.
