Biography:
Lucy Zhang is an artist from the Greater Philadelphia Area with roots in Hebei and Northeastern China. They are a recent graduate from the University of Pittsburgh, where they studied Studio Arts, various area studies, and Sociology.
Lucy works across many mediums including photography, painting, writing, and installation. Their practice explores the interconnectedness of family, memory, environment, and cultural history, and seeks to reconcile fragmented parts of their identity through processes of collage, appropriation, meditation, and dreaming.
Lucy’s work has been featured in various University of Pittsburgh Art Gallery Exhibits. They also run a small business, Lucends, which sells hand-crafted home goods and wearables, and do stick & poke tattoos (both on hiatus at the moment).
